Two-way Coppernic access integration for Genetec Security Center

As physical security increasingly relies on mobility, Coppernic mobile terminals let field teams verify access anywhere - including offline. The ADDONXPERT CopperAccess plugin connects those terminals to Genetec Security Center in both directions: it keeps them provisioned with up-to-date access-control data, and it brings the access activity recorded in the field back into Security Center for reporting.

  • Automatic provisioning of Offline terminals - export cardholders, credentials, access rights, photos and presence status to Coppernic terminals, scheduled or on demand (SFTP). Your teams verify access even without connectivity.
  • Precise sector targeting - export only the cardholders with access to a given sector and its full sub-hierarchy.
  • Department & Mustering information - optionally include cardholders' Department and Mustering data in the export.
  • Tailor-made exports - choose the exported values (last name, first name, photo, presence status) and add up to 22 extra columns (cardholder & credential custom fields, card format, activation/expiration dates, groups, role, status, security clearance, email, mobile...).
  • Access brought back into Security Center - Coppernic terminal logs are imported automatically: each imported access appears in Security Desk (granted, denied, expired or unknown credential, access-rule denial), tied to the door and the cardholder, at the real event time.
  • Traceability & reporting - imported history feeds the Door, Cardholder and Credential activity reports, filterable by entity and time range.

Application

Plugin configuration
In Config Tool, the CopperAccess plugin provides the following options:
  • Configuration of SFTP file transfer servers
  • Configuration of CopperAccess exports, on demand or periodic (hourly with minute offset, daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Sector-based filtering of the exported cardholders
  • Selectable column values - last name, first name, photo and presence status (on/off)
  • Up to 22 additional export columns - cardholder & credential custom fields, card format, activation/expiration dates, groups, role, status, security clearance, email, mobile...
  • Optional Department and Mustering fields, optional badge ID alignment with the card format
  • Automatic import of Coppernic access logs (on/off, with configurable periodicity)

Operational use
The 'CopperAccess' plugin allows you to leverage the following features:
  • List events from exports (Automatic and/or manual)
  • Export files via a 'Hot Action' event in Security Desk

In the field - on the Coppernic terminal
On the Coppernic terminals (Android app, fully offline), field agents can:
  • Access control - check people at a zone entry/exit by badge (contactless) or barcode; the screen shows granted/denied with the denial reason, the cardholder photo and details, and the agent can override the result and add a comment
  • Zone control (on-the-fly) - verify presence in a zone, without a direction
  • Emergency evacuation (mustering) - at a muster point, record present and missing people (badge scan or manual entry) to produce a present/absent list

  • Every control is logged on the terminal and brought back into Security Center on the next export.
Access import & reporting
Beyond provisioning the terminals, CopperAccess brings field access back into Security Center:
  • Automatic import of access logs from Coppernic terminals on each export (on/off, with configurable periodicity)
  • Events in Security Desk for every imported access - granted, denied, expired credential, unknown credential, access-rule denial - tied to the door and the cardholder, timestamped at the real log time
  • Imported history feeds the Door activities, Cardholder activities and Credential activities reports, filterable by entity and time range

Frequently Asked Questions

Overview

What is CopperAccess?

CopperAccess is a predefined export of the ADDONXPERT Export Tool plugin, dedicated to Coppernic terminals. It provisions the terminals with access-control data from Genetec Security Center and brings their field access logs back - a two-way, offline-capable integration.

Is the integration two-way?

Yes. Outbound, it provisions the Coppernic terminals (cardholders, credentials, access rules, zones, photos); inbound, it imports the terminals' access logs back into Security Center, where each access appears in Security Desk and feeds the activity reports.

Compatibility & requirements

Which Genetec Security Center versions are supported?

Genetec Security Center 5.9 to 5.14 (see the Compatible versions panel). CopperAccess installs as a native Genetec server-side plugin.

Which badges and readers are supported?

On the Coppernic terminals: NFC, ParagonID (ASK) and HID Omnikey readers; Mifare Classic, Mifare DESFire and Ultralight badges (UID reading), plus barcode scanning. Card-reading settings (sectors, blocks, keys) are configurable.

Features

What can field agents do on the terminal?

On the Coppernic terminal (Android app, offline) agents perform access control (zone entry/exit, by badge or barcode, with granted/denied + reason + cardholder photo), zone control (on-the-fly presence check) and emergency evacuation / mustering (record present and missing people at a muster point).

Does it work offline?

Yes. The terminals operate fully offline: CopperAccess provisions them periodically with the access data; connectivity is only needed to transfer the files.

How does the data reach the terminals?

Via SFTP, on demand or on a schedule (hourly with minute offset, daily, weekly or monthly).

What comes back into Security Center, and where?

Each field access (granted, denied, expired or unknown credential, access-rule denial) is imported and shown in Security Desk, tied to the door and the cardholder at the real event time, and feeds the Door, Cardholder and Credential activity reports.

Can I target a specific site or sector?

Yes. Only the cardholders with access to the selected sector and its full sub-hierarchy are exported to the terminals.

Can I customize the exported columns?

Yes. You choose the exported values (last name, first name, photo, presence) and can add up to 22 extra columns: cardholder and credential custom fields, card format, activation/expiration dates, groups, role, status, security clearance, email, mobile, and more.

Does it handle emergency evacuation (mustering)?

Yes. The exported data can include the Mustering and Department fields, and the Coppernic app offers a muster-point mode to record present and missing people during an evacuation.

Licenses

What licenses are required?

ADX-EXPORTTOOL-BASE (base plugin) + ADX-EXPORTTOOL-COPPERNIC (one per configured CopperAccess export) + SMA-EXPORTTOOL-1Y to 5Y (mandatory annual maintenance) + one Genetec SDK connection (GSC-1SDK-ADDONXPERT-SFTPEXPORT).
